Welcome back to Suvro’s Photopage, which originally started in February 2004, and now back from a year-long hybernation. The topic of this weeks Photopage is - Guards at the Door.

During a trip to Jodhpur, India, while visitng the city palace, I saw the guards sitting at one of the entrances, with paintings on the wall behind. I found it to be a rather interesting mixture of human and graphic elements in this view, and quickly captured in my camera. The guards seem to represent the life at the present time, whereas the two figures in the paintings, with their clothes and weapons that represent an era long gone, are frozen in time.

These two pictures were taken at the Jaipur City Palace during the same trip.
