Combining two forms

This year the theme of my daughter's school carnival was Mexican Fiesta. To go with the spirit of the celebration they invited a Mariachi band, and a group of performers of Mexican dance, who presented a very enjoyable performance.

At the same time in another part of the carnival children were making spin arts among other things, where you drop liquid colors and glitters on a piece of spinning paper, and it turns into a nice piece of abstruct art. I took a bunch of pictures there, and later combined those two forms into these images by digitally adding the spin arts as backdrops of the dance scenes.

The picture above shows a dance from the region of Jalisco of Mexico. In the next picture the young dancer is performing a dance from the region of Chiapas. The costumes also represents the respective regions.

The colors used in spin art are usually strong saturated colors. So I decided to use a negative of that in this image to make them soft and light, in order to match the white color of the dress nicely.
